All families wishing to enroll students in SJVCS are assigned an initial priority based upon prescribed criteria. The priority is finalized after verification of the parish records, if applicable.

Priorities are listed below in decreasing order of acceptance:

  1. All families with children enrolled in SJVCS and in good standing with SJVCS.

  2. All registered families of St. John Vianney Catholic Church who are regular in Church attendance and envelope use as defined by the pastor.

  3. All families of neighboring Catholic parishes who have been approved by their pastors as supporting members of their parishes.

  4. All other applicants.

Candidates for
Pre-K& K

At this time, prior to starting your admissions process, we ask parents to contact the Admissions Office for an admissions packet. At that time, we encourage parents arrange for a campus tour and/or an Open House visit. It is the best way to discover everything that SJVCS has to offer.

Once ready to proceed, please consider the following to start your admissions process:

  • Pre-kindergarten 4 and VPK candidates must be at least four years old by Sept. 1 of the entrance year.

  • All students entering the Pre-K program must be toilet trained prior to the start of school.

  • Kindergarten candidates must be at least five years old by Sept. 1 of the entrance year.

  • A birth certificate as well as current health and immunization certificate for the prevention of communicable diseases, as required by the Health Department, must be presented before a child is admitted to class.

  • All children entering public or private school in Florida must be immunized against diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, poliomyelitis, rubella and rubeola, and HIB. All students must be in compliance with all Pinellas County health department regulations before they can enter school. All students enrolling in a Catholic school within the Diocese of St. Petersburg are required to submit a Certificate of Immunization along with their application as a condition of enrollment. We do not recognize religious exemptions.

Candidates for

  • All new students will be accepted on a probationary basis for a 90-day period. This is to ascertain a pupil’s ability to adjust to the school philosophy and program. A record of conduct and general ability is required before acceptance to St. John Vianney Catholic School.

  • Parents of returning students are required to submit a completed re-registration packet with the appropriate fees. The school administration and the pastor reserve the right to admit and readmit students to St. John Vianney Catholic School.

IMMUNIZATION POLICY

The State of Florida Department of Health mandates that all students must comply with the immunizations requirements for enrollment in school. Timely notices are sent to parents to enforce compliance with the regulations. Students will not be allowed to begin classes without an up-to-date immunization record on file with student records.
